Photo-ready checklist

A clear room photographs better.

Use this as a final walkthrough. The goal is not to erase personality—it is to help buyers understand the space without distractions.

01

Throughout the home

  • Turn on every light and replace burned-out bulbs.
  • Open blinds evenly and remove window obstructions.
  • Clear counters, floors, and high-traffic surfaces.
  • Tuck away personal items, cords, remotes, and pet supplies.
02

Kitchens and bathrooms

  • Clear countertops except for one or two intentional accents.
  • Remove dishes, soap bottles, bath mats, and trash cans.
  • Close toilet lids and smooth towels.
  • Wipe mirrors, fixtures, appliances, and reflective surfaces.
03

Bedrooms and living spaces

  • Make beds neatly and straighten pillows and throws.
  • Reduce small décor so rooms read clearly in photographs.
  • Hide laundry, tissue boxes, charging cables, and personal photos where practical.
  • Turn off televisions, monitors, and ceiling fans.
04

Exterior and arrival

  • Move vehicles away from the front of the property.
  • Store hoses, bins, tools, toys, and seasonal decorations.
  • Sweep porches and open patio umbrellas when appropriate.
  • Secure pets before the photographer arrives.
